Two careers, one constant.
If you'd told me 40 years ago I'd be running a handyman business in Florida today, I'd have laughed. But here I am, and honestly, I'm right where I want to be.
I started fixing planes at US Airways back in the day. Worked the line, learned the trade, kept commercial jets in the sky. Spent the last 15 years at Southwest Airlines doing the same. When you spend 40 years working on aircraft, you develop a different relationship with details. A loose bolt on a jet isn't a callback. It's a problem.
Before all that, I built a successful home services business up in Pennsylvania. We did everything, repair, renovation, the works. Then life took me back to airplanes. A divorce, a fresh start, and 15 more years on the line. I don't regret any of it.
Now I'm in Florida. The kids are grown, the planes are someone else's problem, and I've got my hands back on the kind of work that built me in the first place. Home repair. Outdoor projects. Honest, hands-on work where you actually meet the person doing the job.
I keep things simple. Free estimates in writing. No high-pressure sales. No phantom subcontractors. If I take your job, I'm the one showing up to do it. And if it's outside my scope, electrical, plumbing, anything that needs a license under Florida law, I'll tell you straight up and connect you with someone licensed who I trust.
I'm building this slowly and the right way. Working on getting my Florida general contractor license too, so I can take on bigger jobs down the road. For now, the focus is repairs and outdoor maintenance done right the first time.
If your home needs attention and you want a real craftsman to handle it, give me a call. I'll be glad to help.
